BLACKPINK Teases Something New For December 3
Just a few months after releasing their first Korean studio album, it seems like K-pop group BLACKPINK is gearing up for something new.
They posted on their YouTube channel a short 20-second teaser simply titled "The Invitation". The clip showed a pink invitation being put into a briefcase which has a lock code of 124. The caption for the video says delivery by 11 Am KST December 3, 2020. For sure, all Blinks would be anticipating what is next to be released. Some are already making guesses, with many thinking it might be an online concert.
2020 has been a good year for the quartet. They had a lot of projects that were really successful. Before the release of "The Album", they had a collab with none other than Selena Gomez. Gomez is not the only one they had a collab with this year. They also featured in Lady Gaga's new album "Chromatica". The song, "Sour Candy", debuted at 33 on the Billboard Charts. For their album, they also did a collab with American rapper Cardi B.
"The Album" was well received, with their physical album sales already reaching more than 500,000 copies just a day after release. They made history by being the first K-pop girl group to sell more than a million copies of their physical album.
Aside from releasing music, BLACKPINK also released a documentary in Netflix. "BLACKPINK: Light Up The Sky" featured the journey of Lisa, Jennie, Jisoo, and Rose. It told the story of how they started as trainees in YG Entertainment, plus some behind the scene clips of their tours and everyday lives.
Another notch on their post is receiving a Ruby Play Button for their YouTube Channel. They were able to achieve this award after having more than 50 million subscribers in their official channel, the first for any Korean account in the plant form.
