Jay Park Says He Is Inspired By Bigbang, Also Cites Blackpink As His Favorite Girl Group
Jay Park once again spoke about the influence of K pop group Bigbang has had on him by playing an inspiration in the past. The confession came when he became a guest in Eric Nam's podcast The Kpop Daebak show. He further explained that part of it is that he can listen to the music of the group without seeing the visuals.
In the same show, he also talked about the past groups that he enjoyed and his favorite girl group right now. He cited first-generation groups GOD and S.E.S as his favorite while Baackpink is his favorite among girl groups right now, with "Playing With Fire" as his favorite Blackpink song.
Park has come a long way after leaving Kpop group 2 PM in 2009. He came back to the music scene, rebranding himself as an R&B singer instead. He went on to establish hip hop label AOMG, which houses artists like Simon Dominic, Gray, and Lee Hi. He then also founded H1GHR Music, promoting artists like Ten Park, PH-1, and Haon. In 2017, He also signed up with Roc Nation to manage his activities in the United States and released the song "Soju" featuring 2 Chainz.
Jay Park will headline this year's Asian Sound Syndicate festival, which will be held virtually from December 19th to the 20th. Other performers include Mino and Bobby from boy groups Winner and iKON.
