PUBG Confirms BLACKPINK Collaboration on Mobile Platform
PUBG Mobile confirmed its collaboration with K-pop superstars, BLACKPINK. Fans suspected the collaboration over the last few days and the final confirmation was finally made on Thursday with an image shared on Twitter reading "BLACKPINK IN YOUR AREA."
While BLACKPINK songs have been featured on the game before, this collaboration is expected to be much bigger.
PUBG, short for PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, is a multiplayer battle royale game on multiple platform including mobile. Details of the extent of their partnership have not yet been revealed.
However, reports suspect that the K-pop artists will be playable as special avatars. The ads from PUBG also suggest that there will be BLACKPINK-inspired weapons, a pink car, a nightstick, and a themed airdrop box.
BLACKPINK has been on a roll with recent collaborations. The K-pop group was recently featured on Elle's October 2020 U.S. edition.
They also broke the record for YouTube's biggest music video premiere with the release of "Ice Cream," featuring Selena Gomez. The song also reached no. 13 on the Billboard Hot 100.
