BTS Jimin Gives $84K Donation to South Korea Education Foundation
BTS's Jimin made a generous to the Jeonnam Future Education Foundation in South Korea, Soompi reports. Reports indicate that the donation was delivered by Jimin's faith on July 29 and was proposed to be used for students in South Korea's South Jeolla Province.
The donation was 100 million won (about $84,000 USD) and will go towards educational development in the region.
BTS's Jimin is no stranger to generous giving, especially for the cause of education. In 2019, the superstar made a donation of $100 million won for student welfare to the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education. He also donated new desks and chairs to his former school, Busan High School of Arts.
BTS has a group has been actively involved in good causes. The K-pop group joined a global partnership with the United Nations called "Generation Unlimited." The partnership seeks to support the education, training, and employment opportunities for the youth, a report from Global Citizen states.
BTS also launched "Love Myself," in 2017 in partnership with UNICEF. It is anti-violence campaign that supports young people who have endured sexual assault, domestic violence, and school violence. The funds raised through the campaign will offer support and educational programs to prevent such violence in the future. Since late 2019, the campaign is said to have raised over $2 million USD.
BTS is continually seeking to support good causes in South Korea and beyond.
