An announcement by the IFPI (International Federation of the Phonographic Industry) on March 19, 2020, made BTS a history making group yet again.

The organization reported that BTS's album, "MAP OF THE SOUL: PERSONA," came in 3rd place on their annual list of best selling worldwide albums.

This placement makes BTS the first Korean artist to make the list.

The IFPI posted on Twitter: "The 6th EP from South Korean pop powerhouse BTS received critical acclaim for its confident, genre-spanning sound & was a worldwide hit, plus the 1st #1 for a Korean act in many global markets."

BTS joins other global superstar artists on the top 10 list, including Arashi, Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Lady Gaga, Billie Eilish, Ariana Grande and more.
