'Encounter' Actor Park Bo Gum Confirms His First Single To Drop In Japan In March
Encounter actor Park Bo Gum is set to release his debut single in Japan next month. The Hallyu star has expressed his excitement over the upcoming project.
Park Bo Gum is indeed a talented artist. Aside from acting, he can also sing, dance, and play the piano. On March 20, he will officially drop his first ever single, titled "Bloomin'," along with the title track of the same title and the song "Shining Future."
According to Park, "Bloomin'" is for his fans all over the world. The song lyrics use flowers as a metaphor in describing two people wanting to bloom together despite the distance.
"I'm happy that I'm able to greet my Japanese fans through a single album. I want to send a warm message and love to you all through my song. I'll try to show you a new side of myself. Please support me," Park said (via Soompi).
The actor is scheduled to visit his fans in Japan on February 3 ahead of the release of his single. He will be in Saitama, Japan on February 3 as part of his Park Bo Gum 2019 Asia Tour.
This is not the first time, however, that Park is credited for his singing talent. He previously sang "My Person," one of the soundtracks of his hit K-drama Love In The Moonlight.
His fans also know that Park initially wanted to be a singer-songwriter. In fact, he even sent an audition video to YG Entertainment. Unfortunately, he did not pass the audition.
In an episode of YG Treasure Box, YG Entertainment CEO Yang Hyun Suk admitted that one of his biggest regrets is turning down Park Bo Gum. Yang said missing out Park made him decide to personally look into each talent audition of his company. The Reply 1988 actor then changed his career path after someone told him that he would do well acting.
Park is currently on his Asia tour. He showed off his skills in singing and dancing when he kicked off his tour in Seoul, South Korea on January 26. In the event, fans saw Park dancing to TWICE's "What Is Love?" and SEVENTEEN's "Pretty U."
After his tour stop in Japan on February 3, he will be in Thailand on February 16. He will also perform for his fans in Singapore on March 9, Hong Kong on March 16, Jakarta on March 23, Kuala Lumpur on March 30, and Taipei on April 6.
Park Bo Gum recently wrapped up his melodrama Encounter alongside Song Hye Kyo. In a recent interview, the actor talked about his future plans. He said he might choose his next project where he can play a role that is a complete opposite of his Encounter character, Kim Jin Hyuk.
So far, Park's agency, Blossom Entertainment, has yet to confirm the actor's next acting gig. Fans are still waiting if Park would accept the offer to play a lead role in action drama film Seo Bok opposite Gong Yoo.
In 2017, Blossom confirmed that Park was offered a lead role in the movie. However, no information has been released since then on whether or not Park will accept the offer.
