2018 Melon Music Awards Update: Top 10 Artists Winners, Nominees, Voting, Air Date, & More
The 2018 Melon Music Awards has revealed the winners for the Top 10 Artists. It also kicked off the next round of voting and released the list of nominees for the other categories that fans can vote for.
The 2018 MMA has announced the 10 artists who were most loved by Melon users for this year. MMA opened the first round of voting for the Top 10 award on October 26. It ended on November 13 and the award-giving body announced the winners for the category.
Netizens voted for the 40 nominees who were chosen based on the weekly Melon Popularity Award votes achieved by each nominee, the number of downloads, and the number of streams. The Top 10 Artists winners are Apink, BLACKPINK, Bolbbalgan4, BTOB, BTS, EXO, iKON, MAMAMOO, TWICE, and Wanna One.
As the voting for Top 10 Artists ended, the MMA revealed the nominees for the other categories and also opens the next round of voting. The artists who are nominated in MMA categories released their music between December 2, 2017, and October 25, 2018.
Leading the list of nominees is BTS. The Bangtan Boys is nominated in five categories: Best Artist, Best Album for Love Yourself: Tear, "Fake Love" for Best Song and Best Rap/Hip-Hop categories, and the Netizen Popularity Award.
EXO, as a group, received nods in three categories: Best Artist, Universe - Winter Special Album 2017 For Best Album and the Netizen Popularity Award. Its sub-unit EXO-CBX is nominated for Best Male Dance Award for "Blooming Day." EXO member Baekhyun and Loco's collaboration for the song "Young" and Suho and Jang Jae In's "Do You Have a Moment" for the Hot Trend Award.
The voting for the second round will run until midnight on November 30. Meanwhile, 2018 MMA added a new category, Best Record Of The Year award, for this year's event. It will be 100 percent judges' vote.
Another category that votes will depend entirely on judges is the Music Video Awards. MMA will also be giving away special recognitions such as Global Artist Award, Stage of the Year, Song Writer Award, and 1theK Performance Award.

The Top 10 Artists and other winners will receive their awards at 2018 2018 Melon Music Awards ceremony at the Gocheok SkyDome on December 1. It will also air live via JTBC2, JTBC4, 1theK, and KakaoTV.
