BLACKPINK's Jennie Rumored To Launch Solo Debut This Year; Reportedly Filmed MV In Europe
BLACKPINK's Jennie has been rumored to be launching her solo debut before the year ends. With the global success of BLACKPINK, it is not surprising that there will be speculations about the members preparing for a solo project.
According to news outlet Sports Donga (via Soompi), Jennie is currently preparing for her first solo album. The singer allegedly plans to release the album in November and YG Entertainment is finalizing the release schedule.
The publication added that Jennie had filmed the music video for the debut title track of her solo album when she was in Europe recently. The singer attended the Paris Fashion Week recently where she was also seen at the front row seat of the Chanel fashion show. She was also praised for her fashion style during the event.
Jennie is the main rapper and vocalist of the BLACKPINK. She is known for her charisma on stage and impressive fashion sense.
The 22-year-old singer joined YG Entertainment in 2010 at the age of 14. Jennie is fluent in both Korean and English languages as she lived and studied in Auckland, New Zealand for five years. She collaborated with other YG artists and appeared in a couple of BIGBANG member G-Dragon's MV before she joined BLACKPINK and debuted in August 2016.
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK released their latest EP titled Square Up in June along with the single "Ddu-Du Ddu-Du." The music video for the song was named at the time the most-viewed Korean MV within 24 hours with over 36.2 million views and second second-most-viewed next to Taylor Swift's "Look What You Made Me Do." Both records are now being held by BTS's "IDOL."
The four-member group announced last month that they will be holding their first ever concert in Seoul, titled Black Pink 2018 Tour [In Your Area] Seoul x BC Card, at the Olympic Gymnastics Arena on November 10-11. According to YG, Jennie, Jisoo, Rose, and Lisa are all doing their best to prepare for the upcoming concert and are even putting in their own ideas. In fact, the title "In Your Area" was also an idea of the members.
The fan club ticket pre-sales for the BLACKPINK concert started on October 14. The general ticketing will start on October 18 and 19.
