'Grey's Anatomy' Season 15 Spoilers: Meredith Has New Lover + Someone Is Pregnant
Grey's Anatomy Season 15 is indeed a "season of love." There will be a new romance for Meredith Grey, someone is pregnant plus new hot doctors are coming to town.
ABC has dropped the first teaser trailer for the upcoming season and it offers some very juicy information. First on the list is Meredith's (Ellen Pompeo) new lover: Andrew DeLuca (Giacomo Gianniotti). The preview shows the two in a steamy love scene in bed. Although it is already expected to happen after drunk DeLuca kissed Meredith in Season 14 finale, many are still thrilled to see Mer in a new relationship.
In the previous installment, Dr. Derek Shepherd's (Patrick Dempsey) wife had a romantic affair with Dr. Nathan Riggs but it ended in the early part of Season 14 when Riggs' fiancée, Megan, found was alive. Riggs eventually broke up with Mer and decided to start a new life with Megan in California.
Showrunner Krista Vernoff earlier teased that Meredith may find new love this season. Will it be with DeLuca or with someone else? It can be recalled that new transplant surgeon, Dr. Nick Marsh (Scott Speedman), also flirted with Mer last season. The official synopsis of Grey's Anatomy Season 15 Episode 1 stated that "Meredith is seemingly distracted and struggles to stay focused," which means something or someone is making her preoccupied.
A pregnancy is also teased in the new trailer. Dr. Teddy Altman (Kim Raver) tells Dr. Maggie Pierce (Kelly McCreary) that she is 11 weeks pregnant. Maggie looks at Teddy in disbelief knowing that the baby could be Owen's (Kevin McKidd). The two slept together when Owen visited Teddy in Germany. It looks like Maggie will find herself in a very difficult situation of whether or not to tell her friend Amelia (Caterina Scorsone) about Teddy's pregnancy.
Meanwhile, both newcomers Chris Carmack and Alex Landi are also featured in the trailer. The two hot doctors are seen walking into Grey-Sloan Memorial Hospital as a female patient lays in bed while staring at the new surgeons.
"Oh, my God," she gushes as the gorgeous doctors enter her room.
The two-hour season premiere of Grey's Anatomy Season 15 airs Sept. 27 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC. The first hour was directed by Debbie Allen, who also plays the role of Dr. Catherine Avery in the series and also directed several episodes in the past. The second part was helmed by McKidd, who also had previously directed other episodes in the series.
