‘Descendants of the Sun’ Cast Make Cameo Appearances In ‘Mr. Sunshine’
Mr. Sunshine, the newest tvN drama, recently premiered on Netflix and earned praises from fans and critics. The highly anticipated show also shared a sneak peek of the cameo appearances of Jin Goo and Kim Ji Won, stars of the Descendants of the Sun. The special appearance marks the actors' reunion after starring in the 2016 Korean drama.
Mr. Sunshine tells the story of a young boy who leaves Korea for the United States in 1871. He returns to his homeland in his adulthood, now an American soldier. The new K-drama brings together director Lee Eung Bok and screenwriter Kim Eun Sook, who have worked previously on Goblin and Descendants of the Sun.
'Descendants of the Sun' Cast to Bring More Tension to 'Mr. Sunshine'
Earlier this year, it was reported that Jin Goo and Kim Ji Won would be making special appearances in the pilot episode of Mr. Sunshine. The on-screen pair will appear briefly, but both will leave a lasting impact as their characters will play an important role throughout the series.
Their work in Descendants of the Sun drew a lot of praises from viewers for their chemistry. Both Jin Goo and Kim Ji Won agreed to lend their talents in the new drama to show their support for Lee Eung Bok and Kim Eun Sook.

'Mr. Sunshine' Sets New Record
After showing only one episode, Mr. Sunshine recorded the highest ever viewership ratings for the premiere of a tvN drama. The new series ranked No. 1 spot in its time slot including public broadcasting station shows.
Apart from its strong storyline, the new series also earned praises for its impressive visuals. Filming took place in various parts of Korea including Hapcheon, Gyeongju, Gokseong, Daegu, and Busan. The series airs every Saturday and Sunday.
