Song Hye Kyo and Park Bo Gum were part of two of the most successful K-dramas in the industry, Descendants Of The Sun and Love In The Moonlight, respectively. So bringing both superstars together in one television series will undoubtedly be a huge success. So are Song Joong Ki’s wife and his good pal going to work together in the upcoming drama Boyfriend?
It has been reported numerous times that Song Hye Kyo and Park Bo Gum are in talks to join the upcoming drama Boyfriend. Although the 25-year-old South Korean actor is already confirmed to be a part of the television series, Song Joong Ki’s wife has yet to officially accept or decline the offer.
But rumors started to swirl that Song Hye Kyo had already said yes when a staff member claimed that “The drama ‘Boyfriend,’ starring Song Hey Kyo and Park Bo Gum as the main leads, is confirmed to broadcast in December.” However, tvN quickly denied the recent update, stating "Nothing has been confirmed as of yet. We're currently negotiating the format of 'Boyfriend.’ ”
If ever Song Joong Ki’s wife will join the cast, this will be the first drama that Song Hye Kyo and Park Bo Gum will star together. And Boyfriend will be their first series that they'll work on after wrapping Descendants Of The Sun and Love In The Moonlight up.
Meanwhile, after the news broke that there’s a possibility that Song Hye Kyo and Park Bo Gum will be working together in a drama, fans started to share their thoughts about the pairing. Some were excited to see both starts together on one screen, while some were concerned if they’ll have good chemistry due to their huge age difference.
Song Hye Kyo and Park Bo Gum have a 12-year age gap, and some K-drama fans see it as a hindrance. One fan even said that the 36-year-old South Korean actress looks like the actor’s aunt. Supporters then started to put their pictures side-by-side to point out Song Joong Ki’s wife's ageless beauty.
Many believed that the photos proved that Song Hye Kyo could pass as Park Bo Gum’s age. With that said, fans feel that their on-screen chemistry is the least that people should worry about.
