'Outlander' Season 4 Spoilers: Caitriona Balfe Reveals What Will Happen To Claire In America
In Outlander Season 4, fans are going to see Jaime (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) exploring a new territory and making a new life in America. As things are about to change in the upcoming season, the 38-year-old Balfe talked about what will happen in the new installment and how it will affect her fan-favorite character.
"This is a very different side of Claire this season," Balfe told Goldderby. The actress made a big adjustment to play her role in a new territory in Outlander Season 4. Here, fans will see Claire's "much more nurturing side." As many sides of her have been revealed throughout the series, this time viewers are about to see a more quiet Claire.
"This year, it is much more about home and creating," she said. Basically, Balfe revealed that Outlander Season 4 will be about "family, home, and other cultures." Claire will be creating a home, making a new life, and finding their way to survive in America. Although she had lived in the said country in the future, things will be different this time. Claire and Jamie will also be creating what Balfe called "Fraser's Ridge."
In addition, Balfe also talked about the new faces coming in Outlander Season 4. Ed Speleers will join the show as the new villain Stephen Bonnet. Maria Doyle Kennedy will also be seen as Jamie's aunt Jocasta. "Jocasta is such a great character," the Money Monster star said. However, there will be some issues between Claire and Kennedy's new role. They, too, will not be the best "bosom buddies."
On the other hand, Speleers' role in Outlander Season 4 as Stephen will not be the nicest. Balfe explained that she loves having new people joining the hit Starz series, and even described Kennedy and Speleers' portrayal of their roles as fantastic. She also said that they bring incredible feeling on the set and putting new energies on the show.
Aside from that, Balfe also discussed Outlander Season 4's production. Although the series' theme is the American Revolution, this season is still filmed in Scotland. In fact, they are almost finished filming the series and their cameras are about to stop rolling in about three weeks.
