‘NCIS’ Season 16 Premiere Date: Fans Still Hopeful For Cote de Pablo’s Return But One Wishes Ziva Didn’t Survive The Bomb At All

NCIS may still be considered as one of the most watch television series to date, but it can’t also be denied that the show’s rating has been hugely affected after Cote de Pablo and Michael Weatherly’s departure. Now that NCIS Season 16 is already a done deal, fans are hopeful that CBS will bring the beloved characters back.

Korea Portal previously reported that a fan shared a concept of a possible return of Ziva David (Cote de Pablo) and Anthony “Tony” DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly). Basing on the reactions it got on Facebook, it appears that many agree to the idea as well.

“I still long for the day that DiNozzo Sr. drops in with the news that Ziva actually survived the bomb (she was out of town at the time, and Talli was with a sitter or something) and she and Tony have found each other in Paris,” the fan wrote. “I don't even care if neither of them ever shows up again - I just want them to have a happy ending; they both deserve it.”

However, one viewer had a completely different opinion about Ziva’s purpose on the show. She commented on the fan’s post and went on to say that Cote de Pablo’s character was not even worth the hype. She even called Ziva “average.” As expected, her comment received a lot of negative reactions.

“Yawn. Really do wish people would get over this. Ziva was NOT that great a character, pretty average,” the fan shared. “She couldn't be arsed coming back even in flashbacks for Tony's final show, she's NOT coming back, and neither is he, he's got his own show now. Characters come and go from shows all the time, get over it once and for all, people.”

Clearly, not all are hoping for Ziva’s return. And for those who are still hopeful that Cote de Pablo will be part of the NCIS team again, there is a possibility that it might not even happen, at least for now. But the show is known for its twists and turns, so nothing is off limits.

Meanwhile, CarterMatt predicted that the NCIS Season 16 premiere date would be on Tuesday, September 25. The site based the possible air date to the show’s previous release dates, which usually happens between September 19 and September 28.
