‘Code Geass’ Manga Coming Out This June While Anime’s Season 3 Is On The Way

Sunrise Studio has something big in store for fans in time for the 10th anniversary of Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion. While most series' start out as a manga before releasing their anime version, the Code Geass franchise is doing the opposite; it is launching the manga version 10 years after the anime was released.

On Friday, May 25, 2018, Code Geass manga was announced on Kadokawa's Comic Newtype website as reported by Anime News Network. A new visual was likewise released along with the announcement of the new manga series which carries the mysterious caption that says "Look, world. And you should wait. The arrival of the moment of truth."

Even those who have already watched the Code Geass anime series will have something to look forward to in the upcoming manga version. The new Code Geass manga series is said to be the "definitive" version of the anime's story, which means that the manga version might contain details not found in the anime making it a must-read even for those already well-versed in the anime version.

The Code Geass manga will be set when Lelouch and Suzuku initiate the Zero Requiem plan. The manga will be launched on June 26, 2018, in Japan.

Aside from the manga's announcement, Sunrise also launched a trilogy of films as part of the 10th-anniversary celebration. These Code Geass films recap and reimagine the 50 episodes of the entire series. However, the trilogy will also contain scenes not yet seen in the original version of the series.

But that's not all. Fans can look forward to the launching of two other spin-offs. Another manga series will be launched this coming December 22, 2018, and titled Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion - Lancelot & Guren. Also, a light novel series titled Code Geass Story Fragment - Piece of the Mosaic has already announced although its exact release date is yet unknown.

But what's even more exciting is the upcoming release of Code Geass Season 3. The anime's third season is officially called Code Geass: Lelouch of the Resurrection and will be set a few years after the second season's finale. However, no release date has been put forth at the moment.
