"Droughtlander" had been quenched a little when Starz announced that it renewed Outlander not just for one but two more seasons. Outlander Season 4 is still months away from its premiere date, but the TV network had no plan of waiting and announced the renewal of the fantasy/romance drama for more seasons.

Starz president Chris Albrecht kept his promise to Outlander fans that Caitriona Balfe (Claire Fraser) and Sam Heughan (Jaime Fraser) will be coming back for more seasons. Albrecht revealed in a statement that they had given the series a green light for two more seasons.

"Fans can rest assured their beloved Claire and Jamie will be back facing new challenges, adversaries, and adventures in seasons five and six as we delve into American history and continue the story of the Frasers as they settle in the New World," Starz president Chris Albrecht said in a statement.

However, Season 5 and 6 will be an episode short from the previous seasons. The debut season of the steamy TV drama had 16 episodes while both Seasons 2 and 3 had 13 episodes. Outlander Season 5 and 6 will only have 12 episodes apiece. The fifth and sixth installments will be based on Diana Gabaldon's The Fiery Cross and A Breath of Snow and Ashes novels, respectively.

Coinciding with the renewal, Balfe shared a few photos to give their fans a glimpse of what to expect in the upcoming adaptation of Gabaldon's Drums of Autumn novel. A couple of images show Claire and Jaime, with one which featured the two posing intimately, while the other shows the two riding along through the countryside. The third photo shows Brianna Randall (Sophie Skelton) and Roger Wakefield (Richard Rankin) also sharing an intimate moment of their own.

Moreover, the release date of Outlander Season 4 has been scheduled in November. The first season of Outlander premiered in August, the sophomore installment in April, while the previous season was in September. Season 5 and 6 are expected to premiere in 2019 and 2020, respectively.

Outlander Season 4 will pick up in the event after Jaime and Claire were washed up ashore of Georgia in America. The fourth installment will also feature the couple as they live in America on the brink of a revolution. This season, Jaime will also finally meet his daughter, Brianna.

Meanwhile, fans are also waiting for World Outlander Day on June 1 for more announcements from Starz and the series' cast members. Last year, Heughan and Balfe revealed their favorite scenes in Season 3. The on-screen couple is also expected to share some spoilers for Season 4 to celebrate World Outlander Day with their fans next month.
