Jung Hae In garnered a lot of attention during the 54th Baeksang Arts Awards on May 3, but it was not about his win—it was his position in the group photo that swept him up in a controversy. Now, the actor has finally broken his silence after being criticized for taking the spot in the center.

The 30-year-old South Korean actor took to his official fan cafe to share his thoughts after completing his new drama, Something In The Rain, also known as Pretty Noona Who Buys Me Food. Jung Hae In revealed that he just got back from his last filming when he wrote his post and shared that the “production will be forever unforgettable.”

Jung Hae In also noted that even though he usually feels relieved after filming a drama or film, the While You Were Sleeping actor felt different this time around. Although he didn’t mention what troubled him, the recent controversy that he was dragged into could have possibly played a major part in how he was feeling at the time.

The Heung-boo: The Revolutionist actor then continued his post by thanking his supporters. Jung Hae In was filled with gratitude despite all the hate that he received during the 54th Baeksang Arts Awards.

"Also, I was awarded an overwhelming award thanks to you guys. I wanted to say this. Thank you so much for loving and supporting me who's still very lacking,” Jung Hae In said. “As I've said in my award speech, I'll patiently and calmly walk my given path. To my fans who love me, I also admire and love you as well."

Although many might think that Jung Hae In calling himself “very lacking” is quite alarming, these words are very common in the Korean entertainment world. "Very lacking" is usually said by celebrities who are humbled by all the support and would want to do even better in the future.

The Prison Playbook actor only started his career five years ago, so he can still be considered as a new star. With that in mind, many got upset with Jung Hae In for taking the center at the 54th Baeksang Arts Awards instead of the seniors.

The actor won the Popularity Award at the time, and many criticized him for being in the middle while Kim Yoon Seok, who won Best Actor in a film, was spotted in the second row. Despite this controversy, it appears that Jung Hae In has now moved on from it and probably took the controversy as a lesson learned.
