J.Y. Park Announces Public Sermon For Reporters In Lieu Of Their Religious Cult Accusation To Him
Park Jin Young a.k.a. J.Y. Park is now devoted to further denying his alleged involvement with the religious cult, Salvation Sect. This time around, Park Jin Young plans to do something big in order to clear things up once and for all and hopefully undo the damage done to his reputation by reporters' accusations.
To do this, Park Jin Young announced that he will hold a public sermon directed at the supposedly false allegations that he was a member of the Salvation Sect. He also invited Korean news agency Dispatch to come to the sermon so they can clarify Park's religious alignment and perhaps realize their mistake of accusing him.
Park Jin Young stated that he plans to hold his sermon come September to clear up various arguments and prevent them from repeating. He will then announce the exact time and date of the said sermon. Park also welcomed the presence of Dispatch and even said that they could contact him directly if they want to come to the sermon.
The celebrity then went on to call out Dispatch on where they were wrong about him, presumably on two things. The first one is that the Bible studies he attends twice a week are not in any way connected to Salvation Sect. Second is how the media perceived him as a member of the Salvation Sect without much evidence on the matter.
With this, Park stated that while he does not have a religion, he definitely wants to know more about the Bible; hence, his fondness for Bible studies and religious meetings. He also claimed that he does not want to get tied down with religion and dislikes the solemn religion atmosphere.
The rumors that Park Jin Young was a member of the Salvation Sect blew up after Dispatch reported that Park and another actor, Bae Yong Joon, were attending a religious meeting with members of the Salvation Sect. Since then, the issue has circulated quickly and even caused some financial damage to Park Jin Young's company, JYP Entertainment.
Park definitely felt aggrieved with what dispatch had done to his reputation. Hence, the sermon and a possible demand for compensation since his company and name were smeared. Meanwhile, Dispatch has acknowledged that the reports they publicized were indeed false and had apologized regarding the debacle.
