‘Suits’ Season 7 Finale: Meghan Markle’s Wedding For Reel

The fate of Rachel in "Suits" finally gained clarity after months of speculations on how she will be written out of the hit USA series. Apparently, Meghan Markle will have two weddings this spring; one with Prince Harry and the other one is with Mike. 

Markle will be written out of the legal drama through a happily ever after with Mike Ross. Show creator and showrunner Aaron Korsh said that Rachel will finally exchange vows on their Season 7 finale. 

"I think we had to do this. It's something that we owed and had to do. Obviously, I'm so happy for Meghan in her personal life and that it landed sort of similarly. It just happens," Korsh said. 

It is not only Markle who will be written out through the wedding because Patrick Adams will be leaving the show as well. 

Korsh said that he was thankful that he was given enough warning that Markle's love life will trigger some changes in her character. He said that he didn't panic because he was well-prepared for it and then everything just fell into place. 

Former "Grey's Anatomy" actress will be joining "Suits" Season 8. Katherine Heigl is set to become a series regular with Rick Hoffman, Gabriel Macht, and Sarah Rafferty. A spin-off series of the legal drama is also being planned which will star former series regular, Gina Torres. 

Macht, who plays Harvey Specter, expressed his excitement over the addition of new characters and also his sadness over the departure of Markle and Adams. 

"I think she's going to fuel a lot of fire for a lot of the characters in the show and there's going to be a lot of conflict going on," Macht said when asked about Heigl. 

Adams, on the other hand, also talked about how bittersweet filming the wedding was.

"I know it was one of the most surreal days ever. Meghan and I have been so close from the beginning of the show, so to finally get to that moment was really great. And to have the rest of the cast there and supporting and I think we shot - I think the only tease is that we were shooting it until about seven in the morning. So, if you see some bleary-eyed people, that's probably why," he said. 

The Season 7 finale will air on April 25.
