Dragon Ball Super has come to an end, but it looks like Toei Animation is not yet done with the franchise. As a lot of fans are clamoring for the anime series' return, the creator Akira Toriyama teased that it will certainly be the case.

Come December, Dragon Ball Super will return to the big screen. This will be the first time that Toe Animation is going to release the movie adaptation of the anime series. The film will continue where the show left off, introducing the new story arc after the recently concluded Tournament of Power.

In fact, Toriyama confirmed that the upcoming Dragon Ball Super movie would reveal the anime series' next story. "It will be an episode after catching our breath from the climax of the Tournament of Power with the universe's existence on the line," he said, per Comic Book.

He also added that the film's content would give the audience more details about Freeza and the Saiyans. The creator even admitted that he hadn't given the audience the chance to have a better understanding of the two characters.

Talking about anime series on television, Toriyama revealed that Dragon Ball Super has indeed come to an end, but only for some time. As a matter of fact, the manga that was drawn by Toyotaro, which is now on sale until volume five, will continuously be seen "as-is."

On the other hand, Toei Animation is reportedly giving the franchise a "massive push," Newsweek confirmed. If truth be told, the animation company revealed that it would be restructuring its departments starting April 1. This includes creating a third department solely for doing Dragon Ball projects.

This new department will be handled by Atsushi Suzuki. He was the one who produced Digimon Adventure tri and Expelled from Paradise. Also, he will retain his titles as Toei Animation's Anime Planning and Production Headquarters' Executive and Business Development Head.

It remains to be seen what Toei Animation's future project under the newly-formed Dragon Ball department would be. But, it is clear the anime series' future is now bright, knowing that there is a special unit that will focus on doing the series.
