'One Punch Man' Season 2 Release Date, News & Update: Saitama's Return Now In Production

Fans have been waiting for the return of Saitama on the small screens in One Punch Man Season 2. As two announcements about the anime were revealed recently, a new update about the series was seen on Twitter.

In a post made by the Twitter user named Ken Xyro, a promotional image confirmed that One Punch Man Season 2 is now in production. The piece of comic showing Saitama's face said that the second installment "is in progress," although its release date is not yet revealed.

To recall, the series' cast Makoto Furukawa, Kaito Ishikawa, Yuki Kaji, Aoi Yūki, and Saori Hayami, the song performers JAM Project and Hiroko Moriguchi were reunited in September 2017 to grace the Fall Festival event. From here, the coming of One Punch Man Season 2 was revealed, per Crunchyroll.

Additionally, at the recent Anime Japan in Tokyo, it had been announced that Garou will be coming to One Punch Man Season 2. The disciple of Bang was first seen in the anime's previous season episode 10, although it was just a cameo role. He was just mentioned by Bang and his silhouette appeared.

Now, fans will have the chance to see Garou for the first time in One Punch Man Season 2. Aside from that, it was also revealed at the recent Anime Japan that there will be a One Punch Man-related anime event called One Punch Man Maji Gakuensai that will be happening on August 12.

Here, there will be a big chance that viewers will finally see the first trailer for One Punch Man Season 2. According to Geek, the event's purpose might be to reveal new and major details about Saitama's return on television. Knowing that there will be a big gathering for the show this early, the affair may have something to do with the anime's comeback.

One Punch Man follows the story of Saitama. He used to be just a regular working guy who surprisingly stopped a villain's dangerous attack. From here, he was inspired to become a superhero. The anime was based on the superhero web manga series written by ONE and illustrated by Yusuke Murata.
