Ben Affleck Reportedly Tried To Win Jennifer Garner Back Before Divorce

Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck announced their separation in 2015. However, there are swirling rumors that the 45-year-old actor pursued his estranged wife for reconciliation. Thus, it took them a long while to finally file for divorce in 2017.

"He's begged her to come back several times, but she has no interest," an insider told Us Weekly. In fact, even though he was already with Saturday Night Live producer, Lindsay Shookus, at the time, he allegedly told his friends he wanted to win Garner back.

However, Garner would have always been reminded of Affleck's mistakes from the past. Thus, there were a lot of reasons their relationship continuously failed no matter how hard they tried.

Giving Affleck credit, he is incessantly working on himself to be better and doing his best to stay healthy. Truth be told, the former couple has spent almost two years trying to work things out. This happened before they officially announced their separation in 2015.

Garner fought really hard to save their marriage. She even put her "heart and soul" to fix their romance and wanted things to be better for the sake of their children and themselves. The 45-year-old actress and Affleck share three kids: Violet (12), Seraphina (9), and Samuel (6).

Apparently, they were about to get reconciled when Affleck went into rehab because of his alcohol addiction, Elle reported. Garner visited him every day to check on him. They underwent counseling to make their relationship work. However, things didn't work out.

She has forgiven him for everything he did wrong, but he still didn't change. So, the divorce happened in April 2017. Another source revealed that on the day they filed for divorce, they both decided to move on and that was it for their relationship.

Affleck is now very much into Shookus and has decided to take things seriously with her. Alternatively, Garner is now ready to move on and is also open to dating. She even wants to give love another try after three years of being separated. A source even revealed that she went out with a guy who looked like her former husband.
