The details for the most anticipated Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's nuptials remain under wraps. Surprisingly, however, the Kensington Palace has dropped one detail of the event —the wedding cake.

The palace has announced that the royal wedding cake of Markle and Prince Harry will be made by London's Violet bakery-café owner Chef Claire Ptak. Apparently, the soon-to-be-wed couple has personally chosen and asked Ptak to create their wedding cake.

Meghan Markle And Prince Harry's Wedding Cake

Contrary to what many may have expected, Markle and Harry's wedding cake will be simple and traditional. It will be a lemon elderflower cake which will be packed with flavors of spring and decorated with fresh flowers, which is a signature of Violet bakery-café.

On its Instagram account, it can be noticed that most of the featured cakes have fresh flowers or leaves on top. A touch of feminine and elegance are emphasized as well, while some also indicate sugar-free, gluten-free, or vegan desserts. Another signature of the bakery-café is the rustic-looking finish of its cakes with a swirl buttercream frosting.

Markle and Prince Harry are expected to have a multi-layered wedding cake to share with over 2,600 guests, of which out 1,200 are members of the public. Earlier this month, the Kensington Palace released a statement saying Harry and the Suits actress would like to share their joy on their special day to the public.

Why Meghan Markle And Prince Harry Chose Chef Claire Ptak

According to the official royal residence of Prince Harry, Prince William, and Kate Middleton, Markle has known Ptak for a while now. The American actress has previously interviewed the pastry chef for her lifestyle website called The Tig.

Ptak, who was raised in California, used to work as a pastry chef at Chez Panisse in Berkeley before she decided to move to London. She started her business by cooking from home and on a small stall in Broadway Market in East London. She opened her organic bakery in 2010. Ptak is also a food writer, food stylist, recipe developer, and consultant. In 2015, Ptak published her first cookbook, The Violet Bakery Cookbook, that includes celebration cakes.

Ptak is known for using seasonal and organic ingredients in her cakes. It could be one of the reasons why the couple decided to pick her as their wedding cake creator.

Markle and Prince Harry are set to exchange "I do" on May 19 at the Windsor Castle's St George's Chapel. Queen Elizabeth II had recently given her formal consent to her "beloved grandson" to marry Markle. Prince Harry, meanwhile, reportedly refused to sign a prenuptial agreement ahead of his marriage to the actress.
