The release of Wanna One's comeback album has been tainted with controversy. The K-pop band is now under fire after their scandalous conversation backstage was accidentally aired live. Unfortunately, the unsavory conversation is about their work, payment, fans, and more.

Fans are shocked upon hearing the Wanna One members cursing, complaining, and making inappropriate comments while in a waiting room of a TV show. Just hours before the release of their comeback album, 0+1=1 (I Promise You), Wanna One appeared on Mnet's show Star Live.

Before they go on air, the K-pop idols were filmed in the waiting room while making some distasteful comments. In the video, some members joked about the interview questions for the broadcast.

"Why aren't we getting our payment?" Kang Daniel can be heard shouting.

"Why are we only getting 20%?" Park Ji Hoon added.

"Why aren't we getting any sleep? Why do we not have any freedom?," Ong Seung Wu said.

They made the remarks before a female staff of the show asked them to get into their positions for the broadcast. Some members were also heard swearing and another announced a license plate number, apparently of a fan, before saying the car owner should stop coming in front of their house. Another member can also be heard yelling out "Dae-ddal-gak, only the pretty ones" which means "Jerk off only the pretty ones."

Netizens' React to Wanna One Inappropriate Remarks

The netizens believe that the members of the boy band were completely unaware that their conversation is airing live when they are making the comments. Just the same, fans did not let it fly. Many expressed on social media sites their disappointment of the K-pop idols' behavior. Most were hurt by the ill-chosen words while others slammed the members for lack of manners and modesty.

"I didn't vote on Produce 101 to see this. I didn't buy multiple copies of your debut album and other albums to see this. I've set the alarm to hear your song exactly at 6 pm but the consequence of my waiting is too heavy. I hope they realize their wrongdoings and apologize properly. Seriously," one fan wrote on popular portal site Naver.

Wanna One Apologizes To Fans

As soon as backlash started to pour in, Wanna One issues an apology to their fans. The members asked for their fans forgiveness for their bad behavior. They also promised to work hard on their manners and be cautious of their actions.

"We apologize for showing a bad side of us and disappointing the fans with our live broadcast. We will reflect on our actions and work hard to become a mature and modest Wanna One who's always cautious about all of our actions. We will never forget the overwhelming love you send us and work hard to show a better side of us. Once again, we sincerely apologize for causing disappointment and concerns," Wanna One stated (via AllKPop).

The band's label, YMC Entertainment, likewise express their regret for the incident that highlights the behavior of Wanna One. Meanwhile, Mnet also issued a statement saying the network will improve its service to avoid such incident to happen again. The network also apologized to Wanna One and to its fans. A source from Mnet also confirmed that the Wanna One's backstage video was aired by mistake.

Wanna One officially dropped on Monday their comeback album 0+1=1 (I Promise You), featuring the title track "Boomerang." The group earlier released a special theme track, "I Promise You (I.P.U.)," along with a music video. It was also announced that pre-orders for Wanna One's second EP are already over 700,000 copies, smashing the previous record set by the group.
