‘Shameless’ Season 9 Spoilers: Kassidi Forces Carl To Return Home, Debbie And Derek Share Child Custody

There may not be an exact date but Shameless Season 9 is officially confirmed and will have its premiere later this year. However, it is still yet to be confirmed how many episodes the series will be having for season 9, and whether or not it will make way for another season.

There is no indication that season 9 is the end of Shameless. There has been an increase in ratings since season 7 and the show is noted for bringing in an average of 1.5 million viewers a week, Cartermatt reveals. Hence, this is a good sign for a possible season 10. 

Spoilers for Shameless Season 9 reveal that the viewers will be surprised to see Sammi Haratty's character, Kassidi tracking down her husband Carl Francis Gallagher (Ethan Cutkosky) at the military school, as reported by The Christian Post. She will force him to give up his education and return home. In the finale of the previous season, he somehow managed to escape by boarding a bus to the military school. It remains unknown whether or not he will be able to escape and rejoin the military school to fulfill his dream.

The second-youngest Gallagher child, better known as Carl tied the legal knot with his obsessive girlfriend Kassidi, although she only manipulated him to marry her. She previously promised that she would let him go to attend military school with open heart and Carl married her because he trusts that she would not break her promise. However, things took a sudden turn following their marriage when Kassidi didn't fulfill his promise. 

On the other hand, Deborah Gallagher aka Debbie (Emma Kenny) will be seen sharing the custody of her daughter with her former beau Derek (Damien Diaz). In a conversation with TVLine during the end of January, the series' executive producer, Nancy Marie Pimental gave a hint on sharing the child custody between the two. His sudden appearance in the last installment has brought a change to the storyline. Now he wants to claims his right to his daughter.

Shameless Season 9 is expected to premiere in 2019.
