Good news for the anime aficionados, the anime manga series Tokyo Ghoul Season 3 will be aired in April this year. The upcoming season is going to be an adaptation of the Tokyo Ghoul: re and not a reboot of the original series as it was previously predicted.

The wait for Tokyo Ghoul Season 3 has been difficult for fans but it will be worth it. However, their level of patience will be further tested as there are slight variations in the storyline along with new casting.

Yū Kobayashi, the Danganronpa and Attack on Titan voice actress and singer, will be lending her voice to the anime version of Kanae von Rosewald. He was a ghoul and the Rosewald family's the last survivor. Apart from Kobayashi, Mamoru Miyano, another Japanese actor will be seen reprising his role (voice lending) as the extremely naughty Gourmey ghoul Tsukiyama Shuu in the animated series.

On the other hand, Tokyo Ghoul Season 3 will have more returning cast members such as Kaito Ishikawa, Yuma Uchida, Natsuki Hanae, Natsumi Fujiwara and Ayane Sakura. They will be lending their voice for the characters such as Kuki Urie (the squad leader of the Quinx Squad), Ginshi Shirazu (Rank 3 Ghoul Investigator), Ken Kaneki (the protagonist), Tooru Mutsuki, and Saiko Yonebayashi respectively, as revealed by The Christian Post.

The website further hints that the plot will feature events two years from the previous season. The protagonist or lead character of the original show, Kaneki has unfortunately lost the majority of his memories due to brain damage. He had a deadly confrontation with Kishō Arima. He changes his name to Haise Sasaki as he is not in a state to recall anything, SegmentNext reported.

The viewers will get to see Sasaki joining the Commission of Counter Ghoul (CCG). He will then be promoted to the Head of his own Quinx Squad. This Quinx Squad is created by half-ghouls and half-humans.

Tokyo Ghoul: re will be composed of only 12 episodes.
