Strong Girl Bong-soon is one of the most successful television series in South Korea. The success of this Lee Hyung-min-directed series was enormous that enthused Netflix Australia to choose it for online streaming. The series was not only intended to represent the change in the woman's role, it also left beautiful messages in support of abolishing harassment and violence against women.

The society has always personified male superhero due to the conception that men are much stronger than women. The South Korean series Strong Girl Bong-soon is among those television series and movies like Wonder Woman, Girls Trip, Doctor Who etc. that has the ability to alter centuries-old concept prevalent in the society.

The lead character Do Bong-soon (played by Park Bo-young) was born with superhuman strength. The strength is hereditary and needs to be transferred only to a suitable woman of the family. The first jolt to the rotten societal ideas (men are powerful than women) from this series is she has grown up with helping, protecting other people and fighting against crime. The second interesting part in the series is Do Bong-soon prefers to work as a personal bodyguard to Ahn Min-hyuk (Park Hyung-sik), who is the CEO of Ainsoft, a video gaming organization, NewsReview reports.

On the other hand, The Brag reveals that Strong Girl Bong-soon aims to highlight the toxic muscularity in the male-dominated society and its adverse effect on women. Korean Institute of Criminology performed a study in 2017 to see the percentage of men who torture their partners while dating. Their report revealed 79.7% of male participants had either physically or psychologically tortured their girlfriends while dating.

Strong Girl Bong-soon gives plenty of vital messages to women and men too. To women, the series sends a message that they should be powerful physically and mentally and assist those who are powerless irrespective of gender. Whereas, it conveys a vital message to the men to develop love and compassion for everyone most especially women.
