There is no denying that Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo became household names after they starred together in Descendants of the Sun. As a matter of fact, the series did not only conquered South Korea because the DOTS fever has propagated in South East Asia, Africa, Europe and some parts of America. Due to the show's success, many fans are wondering if the Song-Song couple is reprising their roles in a rumored sequel.

There have been reports claiming that Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo are returning for another installment of Descendants of the Sun. The Inquisitr previously claimed an unnamed representative has confirmed that a DOTS sequel is totally happening. However, the publication claimed that the second installment could possibly have a new storyline after series writer Won Seok refused to become part of it.

It was even claimed that Descendants of the Sun 2 might pattern its plot from a popular American series called Criminal Minds. Because of this, avid followers of Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo have started speculating that they might not appear in the sequel. Adding fuel to the rumors is a previous statement of Won Seok, who said that the story of Song-Song couple's characters has been told already.

In August 2017, Song Joong Ki also revealed that there is a slim chance for him and wife, Song Hye Kyo, to get reunited on a new project. The Descendants of the Sun actor made this statement after the Song-Song couple announced their plans to tie the knot.The 32-year-old South Korean superstar said it would be hard for them to mix their personal lives with their work.

"Working with Song Hye Kyo in the future, I have to give a little more thought. It may be challenging because work is work. It may be a little tough to work on the same production."

Meanwhile, several fans of Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo have celebrated their first 100 days of marriage. Devoted supporters of the Descendants of the Sun stars took to social media to congratulate the Song-Song couple for this marriage milestone. The pair was rumored to have celebrated their "monthsary" in private.

The couple has yet to confirm or deny their involvement in the rumored Descendants of the Sun sequel. Therefore, avid followers of the Song-Song couple should take these unconfirmed reports with a grain of salt until everything is proven true and correct.
