EXID grabbed their first music show victory for their latest track “DDD” on SBS MTV’s “The Show” broadcast on November 21. The veteran pop girl group beat the younger rising stars of today: Red Velvet and Lovelyz.

Fans of EXID enjoyed their fierce comeback on stage, however, the girls were not able to personally accept the award. The MC’s of the “The Show” announced, “Unfortunately, EXID isn’t here right now,” the hosts added, “We’ll be sure to hand them their award.”

Debuted in February 2012, EXID, also known as “Exceed in Dreaming”, is a South Korean girl group consisting of five members. Solji, LE, Hani, Hyelin, and Jeonghwa made their official debut performance on “M! Countdown” with “Whoz That Girl”, a single from the digital album “Holla” which reached the 36th spot on Gaon Singles Chart.

Even though 2012 is not EXID’s best year, the girls’ “Up and Down” became viral in early October 2014. The fan-recorded video of member Hani’s daring performance of the track circulated the social networking websites, Billboard reports. The viral video has 25 million views to date.

This year, EXID continues to pursue their fierce and daring comeback. According to The Korea Herald, the girls officially released their third mini album, “Eclipse”, and their lead single “Night Rather Than Day.” The album hit the number 1 spot on China’s Yin Yue Tai chart and on iTunes K-pop Songs charts in the US, Malaysia, and Vietnam.

On the other hand, EXID is claiming 2017 with the release of their fourth mini-album, “Full Moon”, on November 7. The drop of “Full Moon” also marks the end of Solji’s year-long hiatus due to health concerns. Nothing seems to stop the girls from ending this year with a bang.
