Produce 101' Members in Midst of Controversy for Underage Drinking; Agency Speaks Up
Jeon So mi, Kim So Hye, and Choi Yoo Jung got caught up in the middle of controversy. The three idols from "Produce 101" are being criticized for drinking while they are still underage. Now, Yoo Jung's agency has spoken up to defend the girls.
So Mi and So Hye recently went to Yoo Jung's house to spend a girls night out. It was evidently a fun night for them as So Mi took to Instagram and posted photos from their pajama party. The three girl from "Produce 101" can be seen all smiles from the pictures.
In one of the photos, former "Produce 101" participant, So Mi, can be seen wearing a cute headband while hugging a white stuffed toy. It was supposedly a cute and innocent photo. However, some eagle-eyed fans saw something in the background that is not supposed to be there. So Mi's followers noticed some bottles of alcohols behind her.
The three of the former "Produce 101" contestants are still under 19 years old, the legal drinking age. Because of that, fans criticized the ex "Produce 101" members for underage drinking, as per Koreaboo. However, So Mi deleted her said Instagram posts right away.
This, in turn, caused more stir-up. On Sunday, Yoo Jung's agency has spoken up to clear the issue about the speculations on the girls. According to News Nate, Fantagio denied the speculations that the former "Produce 101" contestants were drinking. The agency said that the girls were in Yoo Jung's house with her parents and relatives to celebrate Chuseok.
Thus, the bottles of alcohol in question belong to the adults who were in Yoo Jung's house at that time. Fantagio reiterated that the bottles that were seen on the ex "Produce 101" members "have nothing to do" with them. So Mi and So Hye's agencies have not released any statement yet about the issue.
