Arrowverse Crossover 'Crisis on Earth-X': Spoilers and Clues
The CW has shared exciting details about this year's much-awaited four-way crossover between "Arrow," "Supergirl," "The Flash" and "DC's Legend of Tomorrow." It's called "Crisis on Earth-X," connecting it to the CW Seed animated series "Freedom Fighters: The Ray" that is set in the alternate world of Earth-X. Spoilers revealing details about the crossover event follow.
Last year saw the first big Arrowverse crossover involving the four superhero shows that fall under the supervision of executive producer Greg Berlanti. "Invasion!" had Supergirl, Green Arrow, The Flash and the Legends fighting off Earth's conquest by aliens.
This year's "Crisis on Earth-X" brings the Arrowverse characters together to celebrate the Barry Allen-Iris West wedding. Going by the specially-commissioned artwork teaser for the event, the wedding will be interrupted by supervillains in true comic-book fashion. The "Crisis on Earth-X" cover art teaser was made by comics veteran Phil Jimenez. It pays homage to the cover of "Justice League #207," an issue that featured the 20th annual crossover between the Justice League and the Justice Society of America, notes Entertainment Weekly.
Jimenez's teaser has the heroes facing off against Overgirl, an evil Supergirl doppelganger who comes from an alternate Earth in which the Nazis won World War II. The evil Supergirl is joined by Nazi counterparts of Green Arrow and The Flash, along with a mystery archer. Many fans are speculating online that this is Prometheus in some form, although there are other possible candidates.

On the side of the heroes, the Jimenez artwork shows Supergirl, The Flash, Green Arrow and various "Legends," including Vixen, Firestorm and White Canary. Fighting alongside them is The Ray, titular character of CW Seed's "Freedom Fighters: The Ray" that is premiering this fall. For the crossover event, The Ray will be played by "Quantico" actor Russell Tovey, who also voices the character on the animated series, says io9.
More clues on the cover art teaser suggest the return of the fan-favorite anti-hero Captain Cold as well as the survival of Black Canary, Wild Dog and Mister Terrific, who were left in mortal peril in the season 5 finale of "Arrow." Furthermore, it features Killer Frost, who was last seen parting ways with Team Flash in the final episode of "The Flash" season 3. As for why the cover art leaves out the bride's own brother, Wally West, we can only speculate.
The four-show crossover is scheduled to air across two nights, reports TV Insider. It begins with "Supergirl" followed by "Arrow" on November 27, Monday and "The Flash" followed by "Legends" on November 28, Tuesday.
