"Goblin: The Great and Lonely God," an MBC drama that starred Gong Yoo ("Train To Busan") as the titular character and Kim Go Eun ("Cheese in the Trap") as his bride, became a global hit. After its success in Korea, its also aired in Japan, Thailand, the Philippines, and Cambodia while streaming services such as iFlix, Viu, Viki and Drama Fever made it available to other territories.

It is only a matter of time before comedy shows started making parodies. This Sunday, "Night Goblin" on JTBC revisits the heartbreaking story of Kim Shin (Yoo) and Eun Tak (Kim) as the reality program heads to Gangneung in Gangwon Province.

For the uninitiated, "Goblin" filmed one of its pivotal scenes in Gangwon Province. In particular, the first time that Eun Tak, a high school student with a terrible fate, unknowingly summons her future husband with a blow of a candle.

In "Night Goblin," instead of Gong and Kim, it was Lee Hong Gi who becomes the Goblin Bride. Dressed in Eun Tak's signature red scarf and holding a birthday cake, the F.T. Island member waits for her groom as he looks over the water.

Kpop Herald reports that the episode, which aired this Sunday, also features appearances from Lee Song Geun, Jeong Hyeong Don, Park Sung Kwang, Lee Hong Gi, Kim Jong Hyun and Chun Jung Myung. Here is another preview of the episode:

Meanwhile, "Night Goblin" is enjoying a record-breaking success this year. Last Sunday's episode recorded the reality show's highest rating yet.

According to a report by Soompi, the episode is headed to Gangneu the g, hometown of guest star JR (NU'EST). It received a 3% ratings based on the numbers provided by Nielsen Korea. In comparison, Episode 7 just reached a 1.8% rating the week before.

"Night Goblin" is a reality show that follows stars as they explore attractions and eat food all over Korea. It airs every Sunday at 6:30 p.m. KST on JTBC.
