BLACKPINK - '마지막처럼 (AS IF IT'S YOUR LAST)'

Black Pink has accomplished a major milestone by amassing over 2 million likes on YouTube for the "As If It's Your Last" music video. The record-breaking achievement comes not long after the boy band BTS made news in July for being the first and only K-pop group to hit 2 million likes on a YouTube MV, which was the video for "Fire."

SBS PopAsia says that Black Pink is officially the first K-pop girl group to reach 2 million likes on a YouTube MV, and the only girl group to hold such a distinction, for now. It's an astounding feat given that Black Pink's "As If It's Your Last" was released merely three months ago.

YouTube may have helped the group in achieving the record by including the MV in YouTube's "Top 25 Songs of the Summer" global chart for 2017. Soompi notes that the Black Pink single was the only K-pop track in the list, which included such worldwide hits as Luis Fonsi's "Despacito," Ed Sheeran's "Shape of You" and Bruno Mars' "That's What I Like."

Black Pink has held a number of other YouTube records. The group had the record for the most-viewed debut K-pop MV in the first 24 hours, with 3.3 million views. (However, in July the coed group KARD broke that record with 3.8 million.) More recently, Black Pink set a record in August for fastest K-pop group to achieve 100 million views on an MV for "As If It's Your Last," according to Amino.

In other good news, the group has been doing very well in Japan, where they recently dropped their first Japanese release. The mini-album "Black Pink" debuted in Japan on August 30 and has since shot to the top of the Oricon Weekly Album chart with sales of 39,000 copies. AllKpop reports that Black Pink is only the third foreign artist to achieve this mark, with the other two being 2NE1 and the Russian pop duo t.A.T.u.
