'Age Of Youth 2': VIXX’s N Reveals Why He Turned Down A Role In Hit Drama
VIXX N was almost in the hit teen drama "Age of Youth 2." In a new interview, the KPop idol revealed the reason why he had to turn down the role.
"Age of Youth 2" is a follow-up to the 2016 drama of the same title. It follows five college students: Yoon Jin Myung (Han Ye Ri), Jung Ye Eun (Han Seung Yeon), Song Ji Won (Park Eun Bin), Yoon Eun Jae (Ji Woo) and Jo Eun (Choi A Ra). Around them are other characters who will help them wade through adult.
It was not revealed which character N was in negotiations to play, but he likely would be one of the good-looking guys who live around Belle Epoque, the shared home by the lead female cast. The sequel currently stars Kim Min Seok, Son Seung Won, Shin Hyun Soo, Lee Yoo Jin and An Woo Yeon.
While Cha Hak Yeon a.k.a. N would have been a great addition to the cast (and likely would have made the drama even more popular), the VIXX member is just too busy with other projects. In an interview with Naver V Live, a show hosted by Rooftop Moonlight (via Soompi), the singer-actor revealed why he was forced to give up his spot in "Age of Youth 2."
"I want to try doing a film, and also after being in genre works, I want to do something like the drama 'Age of Youth' together with my peers," N shared. "This is the first time I've said this, but I had a meeting for 'Age of Youth 2.'"
He went on to say that the director of the drama Lee Tae Gon really liked him and his performance. However, as mentioned, things did not work out because he was busy with his other projects. He explained that during the time of filming, he had an 'overseas commitment' that made him decide to not sign up to the teen drama.
While he was sad to let go of the drama, he did praise the cast whom he said are all doing a great job. "Age of Youth 2" is currently one of the most talked about Kdramas right now. In fact, Kdramapal reported that the most recent episode has finally exceeded the 3% mark in terms of ratings. "Age of Youth 2" is written by Park Yeon Sun. It airs every Friday and Saturday at 23:00 KST on JTBC.
