'Marvel's Daredevil' Season 3 Might Get A Popular Spider-Man Villain

Marvel's Daredevil Season 3

The Devil of Hell's Kitchen just dismantled the ancient organization, The Hand, with fellow New York heroes in "The Defenders," but he still has work to do. In "Daredevil" Season 3, Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) might face a popular villain from Spider-Man comics.

The big bad of the next installment of the superhero series is yet to be announced, but fans already have an idea who will dare challenge the Man Without Fear. Based on a leaked character description, "Daredevil" Season 3 will see the rise of Sin Eater in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

For the uninitiated, Sin Eater (or Stanley Carter) is a popular Marvel Comics villain who constantly clashes with Spider-Man. He first appeared in 1985 in "The Spectacular Spider-Man" #107.

According to Marvel Wiki, Carter was a former agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. and a detective for the NYPD. It was the death of his partner from the police force that made him obsessed with destroying people who abuse their authority. Thus, he Christened himself the Sin Eater to rid the world of evil.

The short bio of the character above does sound similar to this character description first published by The Hashtag Show. Marvel's "Daredevil" Season 3 is looking for a man, aged 28-35, to play the role of "Steve."

"[STEVE]  28-35, 5'9-6'1, Open ethnicity. An athletic but socially awkward FBI Agent, needs structure and rules to suppress the darkness inside himself. Athletic with medium build, responsible and resourceful, hair trigger temper. SERIES REGULAR."

The fact that he will be a series regular suggests that the transformation of Steve into a supervillain (if he will, indeed, be Sin Eater) will be slow rather than introduce him as a one-off henchman. Fans will likely watch him struggle to repress his dark urges before he eventually turn into a menace in Hell's Kitchen.

"Daredevil" Season 3 will begin filming later this year. Meanwhile, the superhero series will return to Netflix in 2018.
