'Crazy Ex-Girlfriend' Season 3: Santino Fontana's Greg Still Possible To Return?

Now that Josh Chan (Vincent Rodriguez III) is officially out of the dating pool, could Greg Serrano return and sweep Rebecca Bunch off her feet in "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" Season 3? Lead star and show co-creator Rachel Bloom think that the return of Santino Fontana to the show is still a possibility. 

"Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" does feel different without Fontana who, after just one season, announced his departure from the show to pursue other projects. Even after the series introduced new potential love interests for Rebecca like Trent (Paul Welsh) and Nathaniel (Scott Michael Foster), Greg is a fan-favorite that many still want to see on the show. 

While Rebecca did seem like she has already moved on from Greg, Bloom says Fontana's Greg continues to be an important part of "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend." In an interview with TV Guide, the Golden Globe winner reveals that her character, Rebecca, has not forgotten Greg. 

"He's definitely a presence in the show," the singer-actor explains. "We don't want to give anything away, but we have not forgotten that character and that character is still very important to the show and to Rebecca."

It does sound like Santino's reappearance on "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" is a real possibility. However, will Greg come back to West Covina in Season 3? Bloom admits, "[w]hether or not we see him, it's not something that we've dropped."

Season 3 is certainly the right time for Greg to return to West Covina. Season 2 ended with Rebecca, after getting left at the altar, swearing to destroy her first love, Josh, who, on the day of his wedding, decided he wanted to be a priest.

In other news, Josh Groban has signed up to become a singing guest in "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" Season 3. According to EW, the "You Raise Me Up" singer will play the role of "a mysterious and helpful stranger who will sing in the show." "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" Season 3 will premiere on Oct. 13, Friday, on The CW.
