Samsung Galaxy J5 2016 Official Android 7.0 Nougat Confirmed Via Wi-Fi Certification
Android 7.0 Nougat has been spotted on the Samsung Galaxy J5 released in 2016. Once released, this will upgrade the smartphone from Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS and brings the latest features and security patches from Google.
South Korean tech giant Samsung is now working on the official Android 7.0 Nougat software update for the Galaxy J5 2016 model. Certification ID number WFA64489 from Wi-Fi Alliance, a non-profit organization that certified standards of Wi-Fi products, approved the Wi-Fi operation on the smartphone. The certification displayed the SM-J510FN model number and Android 7.0 Nougat confirming the manufacturer's testing phase of the new software, according to Galaxy Club.
Samsung Galaxy J7 2016 runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow as its factory OS and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, Adreno 306 GPU and 2 GB of RAM. It has 5.2 inches of a display screen with 720p display resolution, 16 GB internal storage with a microSD slot supporting up to 256 GB of external storage, 13 MP primary camera, 5 MP secondary camera and a removable 3100 mAh battery unit. Since it was released in April last year, Android 7.0 Nougat may be its final major software upgrade as the device will reach the end of life cycle in October 2017 according to the standard 18 months software support window followed by most Android smartphone manufacturer.
Official Android 7.0 Nougat from Samsung delivers new and improved features across all Galaxy devices. It includes faster download speed on applications and system updates, reorganized Quick Panel to easily locate icons, integration of S Finder on the Quick Panel, Direct Reply option on the notifications, multi-window mode to run two apps simultaneously by splitting the screen into two, pop-up window functionality to support up to five separate windows for apps and Performance Mode to allow users select specific performance level depending on specific needs ranging from extending battery life to improving display quality, according to the Samsung Newsroom.
Samsung Galaxy J5 2016 is still available for purchase at Amazon. It's Gold Dual-SIM Factory Unlocked model costs $164.83 while the White Gold variant for U.S. and Latin America costs $184.99. Other variants of the device are offered in different price tags ranging from $170 to $255.
