Nokia 9 In The Works: Ultimate Smartphone Revealed By HMD Global Representatives In Russia

A Larger version of Nokia 8, Nokia 9, in works according to representatives of HMD in Russia and to serve as the ultimate flagship smartphone. Reports claim that the device is dustproof and water resistant.

Russian representative of HMD Global revealed that a larger smartphone is going to be released to succeed Nokia 8 later this year. The device is allegedly called Nokia 9 with a display screen size ranging from 5.5 to 5.7 inches and runs Android OS, similar to Nokia 8. "Well, as a cherry on the cake representatives of HMD Global made a hint that in the future we are waiting for another smartphone - with a larger screen than in Nokia 8, to meet the needs of absolutely all users," according to NokiaPowerUser.

Preliminary specification suggests that Nokia 9 has QHD display resolution, Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, Adreno 540 GPU, 6 or 8 GB of RAM, 128 GB internal storage with microSD card slot, 13 MP Carl Zeiss dual-system primary camera, 13 MP secondary camera, a fingerprint scanner, an Iris security scanner, and IP68 certification for dust-tight protection and water resistance. There is also a possibility that Nokia 9 will run Android O 8.0 OS version instead of Android 7.1 Nougat. The Early report also suggests that Nokia 9 will have a price starting of more than $700 if released in the United States.

Most of the specifications of Nokia 9 mentioned above have similarities with Nokia 8 and notable differences are mostly on the bigger display screen, more memory and IP68 certification. It is possible that the company will also add similar software features based on Nokia 8 to the upcoming device such Dual-Sight camera mode to capture photo and video simultaneously on a split-screen view which can be streamed on Facebook Live, OZO Audio enhancer to capture surround sound within 360 degrees of the device using its three microphones, 4K video recording, vanilla Android user interface with Google services such as Gmail, YouTube and Play Store, exclusive updates to keep the device secure and up-to-date, unlimited storage on Google Photos and Google Assistant for managing tasks, according to NokiaNokia 8 is set to be released in September and will costs at least $700.
