DIA Girls To Return With New Album Following ‘YOLO’
K-pop girl group DIA members went on hiatus after releasing their second studio album titled "YOLO" on April 19. Recently, their agency MBM Entertainment confirmed that they are coming back in August.
DIA is getting ready to release another album in August, an MBK Entertainment representative said in a statement obtained by Star News. The nine members of the group namely Eunice, Jueun, Huihyeon, Jenny, Yebin, Eunjin, Chaeyeon, Eunchae and Somyi are currently working on their new music, but MBK Entertainment has yet to decide on a specific album concept since there is still some time left.
MBK Entertainment formed DIA in 2015. The group's debut album titled "Do It Amazing," along with its lead single "Somehow," was released on Sept. 14, 2015.
"Do It Amazing" was followed by "YOLO" after more than a year. The latter contained 14 tracks including the collaboration songs "April" featuring Din Din and "You Are My Flower" featuring Kim Yeon Ja and Hong Jin Young.
In December 2016, the DIA members had their first concert titled "First Miracle." Their second concert titled "On the Record" took place earlier this year.
As a group, Eunice, Jueun, Huihyeon, Jenny, Yebin, Eunjin, Chaeyeon, Eunchae and Somyi have won two awards. These are Special Idol Award at the 2015 AfreecaTV BJ Awards and Kpop Singer Award at the 2016 Korean Culture and Entertainment Awards.
Some DIA members are pursuing their respective careers as a solo artist either as a singer or as an actor. Among them is Chaeyeon, who is one of the cast members of the new SBS romantic drama series titled "Into the New World."
Chaeyeon did so well on "Into the New World" that director Baek Soo Chan wanted her to become known as a talented actress. The DIA member has an amazing passion for acting, News1 Korea quoted the director as saying.
"Into the New World" premiered on SBS on July 19, Wednesday. Joining Chaeyeon in the cast are Ahn Jae Hyun, Lee Yeon Hee and Yeo Jin Goo.
