‘Running Man’ Anniversary Updates: Song Ji Hyo, Lee Kwang Soo, Cast Invite Celebrity Friends, Family To Join Special Event
"Running Man" will celebrate its 7th year anniversary with a special episode that will feature some of the cast members' celebrity friends and family members. Recently, the list of Song Ji Hyo, Lee Kwang Soo, Kim Jong Kook and their fellow castmates' invited guests was revealed.
An upcoming episode of the SBS variety show will feature a two-parter event that will commemorate the said program's long history. With "Running Man" celebrating seven years on the air, showrunners recently filmed an anniversary special that included a guest list comprised of some of the program's non-celebrity and celebrity friends. A source from the show revealed to TV Report that both Song Ji Hyo and Jun So Min invited their respective younger brothers to the event, while Kim Jong Kook called on his older brother to join the said special episode.
The "Running Man" anniversary special will also feature the guest appearance of Apink's Son Naeun who was invited by Yang Se Chan. Haha asked his long-time friend Park Geun Shik to appear in the said episode, while Ji Suk Jin reached out Kim Soo Yong. Viewers can also look forward to seeing "Love in the Moonlight" actor Tae Hang Ho and comedian Jo Se Ho who was invited by Lee Kwang Soo and Yoo Jae Suk, respectively.
Meanwhile, it is still unclear if the upcoming "Running Man" anniversary special will feature a special mission mixed with an interview segment. The said SBS source did not provide details about the said event apart from confirming that filming activities transpired on July 10, Monday.
Moreover, it is also unsure if "Running Man" alums Song Joong Ki and Gary will appear in the said episode. The show's producing director (PD) Jung Chul Min shared in an earlier interview that he was hoping to invite the said two former cast members as their special guests, All Kpop reported.
"Running Man" airs every Sunday on SBS. The variety show will release its two-part 7th-anniversary special on July 23 and July 30.
