'Mad Max: Fury Road' Sequel Confirmed; Next Movie Title 'Wasteland' Set To Change?
The "Mad Max: Fury Road" movie will have an upcoming sequel entitled the "Mad Max: Wasteland" with brief details provided by the director.
Director George Miller revealed details about the upcoming movie but the title is still subject to change saying, "The best thing I can say is that we're definitely in discussion about making more of these, but the timing of it, I'm really not sure," he said during an interview with Deadline.
"It probably won't be called Wasteland," the statement continued, as reported in Cinema Blend. "I can say that. It was just the working title we gave it."
Tom Hardy's appearance was confirmed by the director saying that fans will "definitely see more of Tom." Questions from fans are circulating if they will be seeing Mel Gibson's in the movie sinces he played the first Max Rockatansky for "Mad Max" and in response Miller said, "If Mel, who is Max in a lot of people's memories, appeared in the next movie, it would pull audiences out of the movie for a bit, and we worked so hard to keep people immersed in the movie as much as possible," according to Tech Times.
Miller further pointed out that he doesn't want to give any spoilers about the movie sequel title nor the release date since it needs more discussion. The director still have smaller projects to work on before taking the director seat for the world of "Mad Max," according to International Business Times.
"Mad Max: Fury Road" was the fourth installment from the movie franchise that earned $300 million from the box office, garnered $177 million internationally and $125 million from domestic sales, according to Tech Times.
There were no further information given whether Charlize Theron will still be playing as Furiosa for the upcoming movie sequel of the "Mad Max: Fury Road," according to Cinema Blend.
