EXO Reveals Date, Logos, Tropical Teaser For Upcoming Comeback; Fans Deduce Meaning Behind Exotic Concept As Members Hint Choreography
SM Entertainment confirmed that EXO is gearing up for an official comeback this month. Shortly after the announcement, the said boy group wasted no time in handing out countless spoilers and teasers for their awaited comeback.
After confirming that EXO’s comeback is in the works, SM Entertainment took to social media to promote the group’s comeback. A new official Twitter account for EXO that uses the Twitter handle @weareoneEXO was just set up. Through that said account, SM Entertainment released the first official teaser for EXO’s new song. In addition to the teaser, new logos for the comeback concept was revealed as well.
The teaser was revealed only after a fan picked one of the three choices they’ve laid out to tweet and share, which is #EXO, #KoKoBop, and #TheWarEXO. The new teaser reveals EXO in a summer tropical concept, showered in all sorts of bright colors. The colorful trailer also revealed the album details which is “The War” and “Ko Ko Bop”. SM Entertainment also revealed through EXO’s official website that the new song will be unveiled on the midnight of July 10 (KST).
Aside from the teasers released, not much is known about EXO’s upcoming comeback. However, members, Sehun and Kai have been dropping hints during live performances, spoiling some of the new song’s choreography. The recent tease was at the SMTOWN LIVE World Tour VI concert in Seoul with Kai and Sehun dancing in unison to an unreleased dance routine during the concert’s final stage.
Fans also wasted no time in deciphering the meaning behind the three new logos released for the boy group's new concept. Some have pointed out that the leaves and plants used for the logos signify the years that EXO has been promoting because one particular logo, the one with orange petals, apparently pertains to a plant that blooms only when it’s four or five years old. Given that the plants used were also exotic, many are speculating that the new album will be titled “Exotic”.
