The internet is filled with speculation-based reports regarding major technology giants such as Apple and Samsung and their plans regarding their flagship devices. However, another player by the name of Sony is also about to join the league of the legends. A recent report that emerged online now suggests that Sony is apparently currently preparing the launch of its latest smartphone for the upcoming IFA, 2017.

According to a report published by BGR, Sony is expected to take on major technology giants such as Samsung, Apple and Nokia and their respective flagship smartphones with its upcoming device that is expected to equip next-generation looks and features. The firm is expected to introduce the speculated smartphone at the IFA, 2017 that is scheduled to take place sometime later in August. The firm has decided to opt for a bezel-less design with its upcoming smartphone. Moreover, it seems like the new introduction will be in the 'phablet' segment. The report further goes on to suggest that Sony has apparently joined hands with companies like Toshiba and Hitachi to manufacture display panels for its upcoming smartphones. According to another report published by Android Headlines¸ the upcoming smartphone is going to be Sony's 2017 flagship device and will likely be taking on Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and Apple's iPhone 8 as well. The device is apparently going to be featuring a 6-inchd display and will come with a bezel-less avatar. As per the latest report by JDI, it seems like the upcoming Sony smartphone will come packed with an 18:9 dimension display as well. The report even shared an alleged image of the device. As per the information provided in the image, it can be assumed that the upcoming flagship smartphone is going to pack a bezel-less look on the front panel and a similar design pattern as Sony's previous flagship smartphones.

Given that companies like Apple and Samsung are already on their way towards manufacturing an under-the-display fingerprint technology, even Sony is expected to follow their footsteps. However, quite to the surprise to the many, there are no rumors indicating the same. The fingerprint sensor could probably be packed on the back of the device, next to the rear camera. The smartphone is also going to come equipped with a wireless charging technology and will further pack Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 SoC. However, none of the above-given information has been confirmed by the company as yet. Therefore, it remains to be seen whether this actually turns out to be true.
