Google Calendar Trash Can Feature Now Available; Older Apps Updated For Users
Google Apps Team recently announced the trashcan feature for the Google Calendar web version, according to Tech Crunch.
The trashcan feature of Google Calendar lets the users retrieve any accidentally deleted event similar to what Google Mail and Google Drive can offer. The functionality doesn't just restore the deleted calendar events and schedules, users can permanently delete them in the trashcan as well.
This update will help lessen Google Calendar related escalations to the Google Apps admins. It will let the users have full control of the application, reported in the official Google Apps Team Blog. Google Apps Team posted an announcement of the trashcan feature update in their blog on Nov.5.
The new feature is located in the "My calendars" dropdown or at the Calendar settings, according to Tech Times.
"This functionality is available for both primary calendars and secondary calendars for which people have edit rights," a statement reported on Tech Crunch.
Google Apps Admins have the ability to monitor deleted or restored events from the trashcan using their domain through the Calendar Audit logs in their Admin Console.
The Admin posted a note saying that, "The first time a user deletes an event from a shared calendar after the launch, a one-time email notification will be sent to them from Google Calendar, explaining the Trash options and details around sharing settings," according to Google Apps Team Blog.
The new Google Calendar trashcan feature drops the old process where the user needs to create a new entry every time a previous data is removed or if there's a schedule change, according to Tech Crunch.
Despite the Google new applications like the Google Photos they still keep track of what improvements their older applications needs to have for its functionality such as the Google Calendar, according to Tech Times.
