'Rick and Morty' Season 3 Air Date, Spoilers: Pickle Rick Battles Rodents, Summer Becomes A Cyborg When Show Airs July 30th
Adult Swim has finally released the full trailer of "Rick and Morty" Season 3 and announced an official release date. The much anticipated animated show by Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland will make its official return on July 30th.
According to a report by The Verge, Adult Swim posted the official trailer of "Rick and Morty" Season 3 which will come out two years after the end of Season 2. For the past two years, fans have been eagerly awaiting news about the third season and have been formulating their own speculations about what the upcoming season will cover.
It can be recalled that as a unique April Fools' surprise, Adult Swim dropped "Rick and Morty" Season 3 Episode 1 entitled "The Rickshank Redemption" to much positive feedback. The network announced that the rest of the episodes will start airing this summer but no concrete date was set for the show's comeback.
In the recently released trailer, fans wonder about many things about "Rick and Morty" Season 3 like whether or not Jerry and Beth will stay together. Given his exposure in the trailer, it is expected that whether or not they split up, Jerry will still remain a big part of the show, Nerdist reported.
The trailer also revealed one of the most anticipated characters for "Rick and Morty" Season 3 - Pickle Rick, which writers have explained was the personification of the term being stuck in a pickle. There are more scenes showing Pickle Rick with arms and legs and duking it out with rodents while being chased by dark-suited agents.
"Rick and Morty" Season 3 also takes inspiration from hit movies like "Iron Man", "Mad Max," "Justice League" as well as the "Alien" franchise. While the mashup of scenes already looks like a riot, it is expected that there is plenty more fun to be had when the season premieres on Adult Swim on July 30th, Sunday, 7/30 at 11:30 pm E/P.
