There are several reports claiming that a meeting took place between Paul George and Clippers recently. The meeting was scheduled at Paul George's representative's office on Tuesday, 27th June. The purpose of the unexpected meet-up right before NBA's free-agency period prevails is so that the two can discuss what the future holds for them together. An NBA representative who wished to remain silent on his identity confirmed the news.

The NBA representative even went on to state that there will be an intense discussion taking place between Paul and Clippers for the next few days. The final decision is expected to arrive by Friday, 30th June. Following Friday, 30th June, all the teams will begin their respective negotiation with the team members that they are interested in acquiring. The report suggests that the Clippers consider Paul a priority. In fact, they will go any heights to re-sign Paul back to the team. As can be recalled, Paul George's contract with Clippers ended last week. Following which, he is now an unrestricted free agent who is open for any kind of offers from any other teams. It will be beneficial to Paul too if he chooses to stay with Clippers. It was reported that Paul can earn up to $205 million in a span of five years if he sticks around with Clippers. However, if he decides to go ahead with another team then he will probably make around $152 million in a span of four years. What factors influence Paul to make a decision is still unknown.

While there is no official confirmation regarding the meeting's details; the discussion's key pointers can easily be guessed. Like mentioned previously, Paul George completed his contract with Clippers last week. Therefore, he is now an unrestricted free agent. In other words, he will now be able to meet up with other teams from the league and can even sign-up with them. This can take place after 1st July. There are chances that he might end up leaving Clippers, after all, especially considering the fact that he has spent six seasons with them. However, the money they are offering is hefty and saying no to that might be much more difficult as well. The player has been around for a really long time. Therefore, his caliber is high. In order for a team to sign him up, it will take much more than just a simple, basic contract to ensure that he agrees to the terms. Let's see what exactly works out.
