Microsoft Surface Phone And Windows 10 Might Come Together
Redmond technology giant Microsoft launched the Windows 10 update sometime last year. While the company continues in its effort to push more users to switch to its latest version OS, the company is also rumored to be working on a Windows 10 Redstone update. Several reports indicate that the company is planning on releasing the new update at the same time as its much-anticipated Surface Phone.
According to a report published by Deccan Chronicle, it appears like Microsoft has given up all hopes on its Windows phone altogether. However, that doesn't necessarily mean that the company will withdraw from the smartphone market. Microsoft is long rumored to be working on a Surface Phone, which it plans on releasing anytime soon. Now, there are chances that the Surface phone might come tagged with the new Windows 10 Redstone update too.
Apart from that, the company is also believed to be equipping its upcoming Surface Phone with the latest Windows 10 Continuum. If this turns out to be true then it will become possible for users to connect their respective devices smoothly to other gadgets running the same technology.
Separately, Ars Technica claims that the company is expected to announce the above-mentioned technologies and devices by late, 2017. However, there are other reports suggesting otherwise. The company is expected to hold an event on May 2, i.e. today. Chances are, they might just introduce their new Surface Phone.
Interestingly, a report by Nokia Power User's suggests that the Surface Phone might also come powered by Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 835. If this turns out to be true, then the device will spark a direct competition with a smartphone with the same SoC, such as Xiaomi Mi 6, Samsung Galaxy S8 and Google Pixel 2 among others.
