Apink To Stop Black Pink’s Popularity?
Apink and Black Pink are two of the top K-Pop groups of today. The former recently released an EP a week after the latter released a comeback song.
Months after the disbandment of 2NE1, YG Entertainment is doing its best to launch Black Pink as the next top K-Pop girl group. On June 22, Thursday, the group released a new song titled "As If It's Your Last."
On the other hand, Plan A Entertainment is not simply giving up the top K-Pop girl group position. The entertainment agency apparently has no plans to extend the hiatus of Apink.
Apink members Park Cho Rong, Yoon Bo Mi, Jung Eun Ji, Son Na Eun, Kim Nam Joo and Oh Ha Young was in Seoul on June 26, Monday, for the release of "Pink Up," according to Korea Herald. One the songs from the EP is titled "Five."
Plan A Entertainment formed Apink in 2011 with seven members. Hong Yoo Kyung left in 2013 and no new member was added since then.
Two years before the launching of Apink, YG Entertainment formed 2NE1 with Bom, Minzy, Dara and CL. Almost one year before the group disbanded, the entertainment agency introduced Black Pink, another K-Pop group with four members namely Jisoo, Jennie, Rose and Lisa.
The four Black Pink members discussed their upcoming first anniversary in a recent interview with OSEN. According to Lisa, they are still a new group but they are already receiving much attention, which motivates them to do their best in their performances.
Despite the success Black Pink is currently enjoying, the daily routine of its members is still the same as when they were trainees. They go back and forth between their home, their schedule, and YG Entertainment, according to Jennie.
One piece of advice YG Entertainment CEO Yang Hyun Suk gave Black Pink is the importance of emphasizing choreography. Yang reminded the K-Pop girl group members that their fans will pay attention to them more if their performance is interesting, Jisoo said.
