AMD Radeon Vega Frontier Edition Complete Specs Revealed
After what appears to be a very long time, AMD has finally revealed full hardware details regarding its first Radeon Vega graphics card. If reports are to believed then pre-orders for the Radeon Vega Frontier Edition have already begun. The pre-orders apparently began late last Thursday. The card is expected to be launched in its full glory on June 27th.
According to several online reports, the recently-announced hardware is especially aimed towards data scientists, immersion engineers, and product designers. Therefore, it is essential to note that this is not the kind made for the gamers. As far as the prices are concerned, the AMD Radeon Vega air-cooled Frontier Edition is priced at around $1,200 and the AMD Radeon liquid-cooled Vega edition is priced at around $1,800. The company also unveiled the complete hardware specs of the latest AMD Radeon graphics card.
Readers must note that the air-cooled and liquid-cooled configurations are similar in many ways. However, the only difference that they have in common is the thermal design power (TDP) rating. According to a report published by PC Gamer, the chip's stream processors start at 4,096 accompanied with 64 compute units. The system's single precision floating point lies at 13.1 TFLOPS and double-precision floating point lies at 26.2 TFLOPS. It boasts of a memory bandwidth of 483GBps with display output, display port 1.4, HDMI "4K60." Unfortunately, the company hasn't announced the final core clock speed for the cards. However, on the basis of the teraflop performance and hardware details provided regarding the card, it is safely assumed that the final core speed will float around 1,600MHz.
The gamer fans aren't too sure what this new innovation truly means for them especially after Radeon boss, Raja Koduri announced that this edition does not represent the company's pinnacle of gaming performance. In other words, it does intend to be aimed towards gamers.
