'Beyond Good and Evil 2' To Be Playable On Current Game Platforms? Creator Revealed The Game's Current Status
The "Beyond Good and Evil" fandom is still probably on cloud nine as of late as the long-awaited sequel to the game - "Beyond Good and Evil 2" is finally happening. Moreover, there are even reports stating that the game sequel will be made playable on the current game platforms.
In a tweet obtained by VG24/7 from Ubisoft's Spanish arm, it claimed that "Beyond Good and Evil 2" will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and even Nintendo's Switch. However, the publication had this gut feeling that such news could be just a faux pas.
In an interview with The Verge as cited by The Escapist, "Beyond Good and Evil" series creator Michel Ancel revealed that "Beyond Good and Evil 2" is on its "day zero of development." Ancel added that there is still so much work to be done, though he made an assurance that the game is still a go.
The series creator also pointed out the technology that they need to develop in order for them to proceed with the project. The mentioned graphical know-how - Voyager, is said to create a universe in a procedural manner just like in other titles like "No Man's Sky." Moreover, Ancel's team is said to have tweaked the planets in "Beyond Good and Evil 2" including its other elements such as character customization, missions, and even its RPG attributes.
The "Beyond Good and Evil 2" reveal at this year's E3 also stated that this will be a precursor to the original game that went out in 2003. Additionally, it will narrate the events that took place prior to the original protagonist's (Jade) birth.
Ancel did not disclose a specific date as to when will "Beyond Good and Evil 2" be released. With what the creative director has mentioned, it may well seem that the game will be years away from going gold. Relive the E3 reveal of the game here:
