Puff Daddy Mixtape 'MMM' Out Now For Free; A Prelude To Sean Combs' Final Album?
Music mogul Puff Daddy brought out new music in New York City, Tuesday and revealed that a mixtape called "MMM" will be available for free, reports Billboard.
Born Sean Combs, the rap royalty decided to surprise fans worldwide.
"'MMM' is a thank you to my fans and is just the beginning, a prelude to what will be my final album, "No Way Out 2,'" said Combs in a press release.
The songs in the mixtape include collaborations with Future, Lil'Kim, Whiz Khalifa, Jadakiss, French Montana and others.
"Before I used to make records when I made my music," said Puff Daddy.
"Then I decided to make culture. And as I got older, I decided I'm going to make fashion. Ladies and gentlemen, listen and watch some fashion," Combs told the audience of music industry insiders.
Producer-rapper Swizz Beats and Epic Records CEO L.A. Reid were present as well in Comb's impromptu listening party in New York.
Puff Daddy's celebration Tuesday night spilled over to Wednesday morning, with the crowd wishing the Grammy winner a happy birthday.
A photo taken by Annie Liebovitz in 1999 is featured on the cover of "MMM". The picture is of Combs with supermodel Kate Moss in Paris. The back cover is a photo by Jonathan Mannion, revealed Pitchfork.
The new music goes back to his roots, shared the entrepreneur who grew up in Harlem, New York.
Sean Combs founded Bad Boy Records in 1993. It operates today as a division of Sony Music Entertainment and is currently being distributed by Epic Records.
"This is free everywhere," Puff Daddy said. "That's the beauty about this project for an artist like myself and somebody that's worked so hard to be successful and understand what's going on right now and to embrace it and to learn so much."
"MMM" is available on Spotify and Apple Music, while the "No Way Out 2" release date is in 2017.
